• In this role you will be responsible for overseeing activities related to departmental administration including organizational communication, information and record management, event and project management, operational support in human resources, finance, and communications within a fast paced and national not-for profit First Nations organization.

As the Administrative Assistant for the Communications Department, you will
• Be responsible for managing mailing lists/subscriptions via MailChimp, support eblasts preparation and distribution, contribute to email/mailing list subscriber engagement strategies and campaigns, monitor unsubscribing, and provide analytics reports along with recommendations for engagement
and retention.
• Be the first point of contact for the department responding to general inquiries and directing other inquiries to appropriate staff, provide administrative support for the department and collaborate with other team administrative staff ensuring inter-team collaboration and engagement.
You bring
A 4-year BA degree and at least one year of administration experience
OR
A Business Administration Diploma and two years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of a First Nations language and culture as a definite asset
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written with the ability to effectively proofread
• A strong attention to details completing tasks accurately, efficiently, and thoroughly
• A demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize work duties and quickly adapt to situations
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Good interpersonal skills that include general courtesy in answering telephones, greeting visitors, and directing people
• A high level of professionalism and able to always maintain confidentiality
• An ability to work comfortably in various platforms including WordPress, MailChimp, etc.
• An ability to function in a computerized environment including a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• An ability to function in a variety of digital tools for project management, files storage and sharing, meetings (audio/visual), teleconference calls
• Excellent typing skills as well as an ability to take minutes and transcribe meetings
• An ability to access work sites not accessible by public transportation
