The London Abused Women’s Centre is a feminist agency that provides long-term, trauma-informed counselling, advocacy, and support to women and girls over the age of 12 who have been abused, assaulted, harassed, exploited, trafficked or who have been subjected to non-state torture.

We are looking for a woman’s advocate with the following skills and experiences:
• experience providing woman-centred, trauma-informed individual counselling, advocacy and support to women and girls over the age of 12;
• experience with group facilitation for women and girls over the age of 12;
• knowledge of the relationship between trauma, mental health and substance use;
• advocating on behalf of women and girls at individual and community level;
• supporting women through the family law and criminal justice systems;
• supporting women and girls who have been sexually exploited and trafficked;
• working with women and girls from diverse cultures and backgrounds;
• ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task, must demonstrate a high degree of mature judgement;
• French or other second language skills are an asset;
• Availability to work both days and evenings as required.

This is a 2-year contract, full-time, Monday through Friday, 35-hour per week position with training provided. We operate as a team where the voices of each employee are valued.
