Salary Range: $45,760 to $61,000

The Opportunity

As a Research Associate, you’ll report to the Research Project Managers and work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. You’ll lead research projects, develop compelling communications, plan high-profile events, and contribute to business development. Your ability to manage multiple projects, analyze data, and engage with diverse audiences will make you an invaluable member of our team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Research & Analysis

  • Identify and recruit participants for primary research studies.
  • Lead small-scale projects, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Conduct secondary research, such as literature reviews and environmental scans.

Event Planning & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Plan and execute research conferences and events, managing logistics, contractors, and materials.
  • Build and maintain networks with regional and sectoral stakeholders.
  • Track stakeholder engagement and support business development initiatives.

Communications & Marketing

  • Lead the creation of press releases, briefing notes, reports, and presentations.
  • Manage the department’s online presence, including web and social media platforms.
  • Present research findings to funders, partners, and diverse audiences.

Project Management & Business Development

  • Prepare grant and proposal submissions, including timelines, budgets, and content.
  • Support the adoption of new tools and software for the department.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure efficient project delivery and continuous improvement.

Experience and Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING

Qualifications

  • A university degree in research, communications, public relations, political science, global development, business, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a dynamic, multi-functional environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; project management experience is a plus.

  • Proven project and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Leadership and relationship-building capacity with diverse stakeholders.
  • Customer service excellence and innovative problem-solving skills.

 Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of Indigenous communities, businesses, and stakeholder engagement practices.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French (an asset).
  • Solid understanding of research methods and frameworks.
