Carpenter

In compliance with the current Agreement between the Greater Essex County District School Board and Carpenters and Jointers Local 494, the following job vacancy posting is provided to all members.

Job Summary:

POSITION: Carpenter
SHIFT : 8 Hour Shift — Days
RATE OF PAY: $36.06/hour
START DATE: As soon as possible

Nature & Scope of Position:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will:

  • Use a variety of woods and laminates, construct and repair cabinets, furniture, door hardware, fixtures and related products.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of commercial and residential construction and remodeling practices and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to and documented success in working to create a fair, inclusive, antiracist environment for all stakeholders, and to supporting diverse constituencies and populations.

Experience and Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A valid skilled trade Certificate of Qualification as a Carpenter .
  • Five (5) years of progressive experience working as a Carpenter, directly related service work experience.
  • Must be a member in good standing with the Carpenters and Jointers Local 494.
  • Must currently be working in the trade.
