ABOUT US

Over the past three years, Southwind Corporate Developments Inc., and Three Fires Group Inc., (“Southwind-TFG”), has become a leading economic development organization delivering measurable outcomes for several First Nations in Ontario. Under the leadership of the Board of Directors from Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation (CKSPFN), Southwind-TFG has created sustainable pathways for several First Nations to create generational wealth. This has been done through participation in strategic long-term investments and over a dozen owned-and-operated businesses and commercial partnerships for revenue generation and capacity building. Please see here for more details on what we do: http://threefires.com/projects/

POSITION OVERVIEW

As part of the current CEO’s mandate to enact succession planning and capacity building, Southwind-TFG is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader from the First Nations to usher the organization to the next phase of its strategic growth. The incoming CEO’s primary objective will be to grow the organization with leaders from within the First Nations while driving maximum topline revenue growth from new and existing equity investments and partnerships. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a transformative organization that will have generational impacts on how First Nations do business in Ontario and position the First Nations communities toward the goal of self-sustainability. The recruitment process contemplates a 6-month transition period between the incoming and outgoing leadership, starting Spring of 2024.

5 KEY STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES of the CEO

Reporting to the Board of Directors and in-alignment with the vision and missions of shareholder and stakeholder First Nations, the role will oversee all affairs of Southwind-TFG through its performance pillars of:

  1. Sustainable Equity Investments Strategies

Meaningful and measurable progression of equity investment strategies leading to final investment decisions with industry proponents, equity stakeholders, the Crown and her respective ministries, and other key First nations. Implement and execute effective due diligence practices.

  1. Revenue Generating Commercial Collaborations

Seed and nurture cash-flowing commercial partnerships with well-qualified, value-aligned, industry leading proponents. Design and execute competitive value propositions to win RFPs and sole-sourcing of EPC opportunities for First Nations businesses.

  1. Benefits + Impact Agreement Strategies

Increase status and leverage for CKSPFN and other strategically aligned member nations to maximize Benefits + Impact Agreements (BIAs) for the maximum benefit and least impact of First Nations. Accurately assess the benefits of economic opportunities and present the social impacts of First Nations.

  1. Organizational Growth & Advocacy

With risk-management considerations in place, formulate and execute innovative growth strategies with scalable partnerships, win-win joint ventures, recruitment and contracting of qualified SMEs, with preferential recruitment and capacity development for First Nations candidates. Create and manage a corporate brand identity that is consistent with, and complimentary to, the culture and protocols of First Nation governments and Anishinabek peoples.

  1. Financial Stewardship Strategies

Forecastable financial strategies to maximize dividend payouts for shareholder First Nations. Accurately articulate fiscal stewardship of all Southwind-TFG financial activities through the development of financial laws and policies. Timely presentation of monthly and quarterly financial reports to the board of directors and client First Nations.
