Position: Child and Youth Wellness Worker
Term: Permanent Full-Time
Department: Oneida Family Healing Lodge
Division: Community and Social Services
Salary: Competitive salary range
Hours: 40 hours per week, shift work, must be flexible to work days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays

JOB SUMMARY:
The Child and Youth Wellness Worker plays a vital role in creating a safe and supportive environment for children and youth at the Oneida Family Healing Lodge (OFHL). This position ensures the timely and effective delivery of services such as advocacy, programming, outreach, and appropriate referrals.

The position contributes to the overall wellbeing of children and youth by developing safety plans, creating programming, and offering 1-on-1 support and counseling for those impacted by violence. In addition, this role provides direct support to children and youth both in residency and accessing community programs through the OFHL. The position also facilitates family violence education, group activities, and individual care plans to address and support the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children and youth.

Experience and Qualifications

EDUCATION:
1. A Child & Youth Worker Diploma is preferred, candidates with related post-secondary qualifications will be considered.
2. Valid Class “G” License and use of company vehicle is required.

EXPERIENCE:
1. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children and/or youth.
2. Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture, history, and traditions.
3. In-depth understanding of family violence, child welfare issues, and the impact of trauma.
4. Previous experience working with Indigenous children, youth, and families.
