Job Description

Position: Child & Youth Worker (2 positions)

Term: Permanent Full-Time

Department: Community Centre

Salary: $23.00/hour

Hours: 35 hours/week, 8:30a.m. – 4:30p.m., Monday – Friday, flexible to work some evenings and weekends based on programming

Posting Date: October 11, 2023

Closing Date: October 24, 2023 at 4:30p.m.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Recreation Supervisor or designate, the Child & Youth Worker will be responsible for implementing programming and events, providing guidance and direction for the program participants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ontario Secondary School diploma or GED;
  2. Post-secondary diploma, ongoing or complete in Child & Youth Care, Recreation & Leisure Services, Social Service Work, or related field of study; OR
  3. Minimum two (2) years employment experience in a similar capacity;
  4. Experience monitoring and reviewing program budgets;
  5. Workshop and/or facilitation experience, experience working with children and youth in leadership capacity, community development experience, an asset.

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO STARTING EMPLOYMENT:

  1. The successful candidate must submit a recent (completed within 6-months) Vulnerable Sector CPIC, at own expense;
  2. The successful candidate must submit a copy of applicable educational qualifications (certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc.) OR letter from educational institution for ongoing studies, prior to starting employment.
