Job Description

Position: Circle of Care Assistant

Department: Circle of Care

Reports to: Community Prevention Worker

Status: Part-Time (22.5 hours per week) 1 year contract, possibility of full-time after 1 year if contract is renewed, based on performance and funding

Salary: $22.14 – $27.00

Job Summary:

The Circle of Care Assistant will work with Youth regarding many programs being offered such as Healthy Babies Healthy Children, Prenatal & Postpartum Care, Indigenous Early Learning & Child Care, Welcome Baby Gift, Child Welfare for Status Youth. Event planning, shopping, event registration, services are confidential and professional manner, performing day-to-day functions such as record keeping, filing.

  • Must follow Health & Safety Practices;
  • Must follow all policies and procedures of Caldwell First Nation;

  • Strong time management skills;
  • Driving of Company Vehicle;
  • Decision-making;
  • Knowledge of issues facing target population;
  • Attention to detail.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Always be punctual and dependable for each shift
  • Maintain record keeping of event registration, requests, email response
  • Communication with Facilitator and arrange workshops
  • Set up for events, organize date/time/facilitator/food/supplies, registration, sign in sheet, clean up after each event, bring forward any issues
  • Perform other duties as required

Working Conditions:

  • Office hours are 8:30am-4:30pm, a flexible schedule ie required including nights and weekends depending on events/training. Schedule will be determined by supervisor.
  • 22.5 hours per week
  • Lift up to 20 pounds

Travel:

  • Some travel maybe required such as Training, events off site, picking up supplies
  • Some travel may require staying overnight depending on location.

Experience and Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Registered Early Childhood Educator (E.C.E.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs;
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certification;
  • Experience working with young children
  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually
  • High standards of ethics and maintain confidentiality

Additional Requirements:

  • Clean Vulnerable Sector Check;
  • Valid Class G license and clean driver’s abstract;
  • Access to a reliable and personal vehicle
  • Current car insurance policy
