Job Description

Position: Communications Generalist Term: One-year contract, potential for full-time

Division: Political Office Salary: $24.30/hour

Hours: 30 hours/week

Posting Date: October 26, 2023 Closing Date: November 8, 2023 at 4:30p.m.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Communications Officer, the Political Office is seeking Communications Generalist. You will be receiving on-the-job training and mentorship to help provide strategic communications for the organization. You will work closely with the Communications Officer in delivering the Oneida Communications Plan, which includes website and intranet maintenance and working with the Oneida Communications Team.

The Communications Generalist’s other responsibilities include conceptualizing, writing, design, copy/photo editing and preparing media materials for distribution through various mediums. You will also assist with promotional materials for departments and ensure products adhere to the brand identity guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education related to communications or previous work experience in a communication role;
  2. Experience and knowledge in the digital and social media sector;
  3. Minimum (2) years office experience in a marketing, journalism, or communications capacity.

  1. The successful candidate must submit a recent (completed within 6-months) CPIC, at own expense;
