Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m., flexible to work some evenings and weekends

JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Recreation Supervisor, the Community Aboriginal Recreation Activator (“CARA”) primary responsibilities are to create a recreation plan; to facilitate and implement recreation programming and to enhance the capacity of the community to meet sport and recreation needs for adults and seniors (ages 18+).
The CARA will develop, implement, and oversee programming for Oneida adults and seniors with the opportunity to promote physical activities, arts and crafts, improve motor skills, and to promote creativity and social interaction.
The CARA will use guidance, leadership, planning, budgeting, and organizational skills to develop recreational programming for the adult and senior population within Oneida. Team building, interpersonal relationships, communication, research, and data collection will also be apart of this role.
