Position: Community Health Nurse

Term: Permanent Full-Time

Division: Health/Community Health

Salary: RPN $25.24–$30.76/hour – Based on experience

RN $35.02–$44.29/hour – Based on experience

Hours: 35 hours/week, 8:30a.m. – 4:30p.m., Monday – Friday, flexible to work evenings and weekends based on program requirements

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Community Health Program Coordinator, the Community Health Nurse identifies, assesses, and responds to the health needs of the Oneida Nation of the Thames population and collaborates with communities, families, individuals, professionals, organizations, and governments to meet those needs. The Community Health Nurse works within a multi-disciplinary environment and liaises with Oneida Nation of the Thames staff and external agencies to promote public health, prevent injury and disease, and protect against infectious disease. The Community Health Nurse is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating community and public health programs and services across the lifespan, including maternal/infant, child, school, adolescent, adult, and elder health.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A Diploma of Nursing or Degree in Nursing (BScN).

OR

  1. College Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing (RPN).
  2. Current member, in good standing, with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  3. A minimum of 6 months work experience in Public Health and/or Community Health OR experience working with First Nations people, an asset.
