The Opportunity
The Community Impact Coordinator is United Way’s primary link to funded agencies, community partners and networks in Aylmer and area. This member of our team will assist United Way understand local needs, ensuring recommendations into the overall investment strategy.
Compensation Structure:
Based on the salary band for this role, external candidates can expect to be offered a starting salary in the range of $26,200 – $27,100 ($28 – $29 / per hour). When determining the wage, we consider the market, candidate experience, as well as internal equity. Additionally, United Way also offers:

Experience and Skills Required
- Post-secondary credentials or combination of education and experience in related field
- Minimum of one year of experience in community development and program coordination is required
- Knowledge of local area’s social services and strategies to address social challenges
- Experience building relations and collaborating
- Experience coordinating and managing volunteers
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to adapt and find creative solutions in a changing work environment with multiple deadlines and pressures
- Organizational skills, able to successfully manage competing priorities and see project through to completion
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work respectfully and inclusively with diverse populations and multiple stakeholders
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle with a minimum of $1,000,000 insurance coverage
Primary Responsibilities
- Support community engagement on priority needs
- Represent United Way at community planning tables and networks
- Convenes community partners; collaborate with local service providers
- Participate in community initiatives
- Ensure people with lived / living experience are included in United Way’s work
- Lead the recruitment, training and recognition of local volunteers
- Work with local partners to communicate funding opportunities
- Provide content and information for donor and public communications
- Assist with the development of donor engagement activities
- Research new campaign opportunities
- Develop and manage projects that supports and enhances Community Impact goals
- Promotes UWEM on a year-round basis to ensure top-of-mind awareness for all activities
- Perform other duties as needed to ensure the safe and effective operations of the organization
Location: Aylmer and Elgin County, Travel within Elgin is required. | Occasional travel within London.
Work Hours: 18-hours per week. Schedule is flexible to reflect meetings outside of regular business hours.
