JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the OFHL Team Lead, the Crisis Intervention Worker will provide support to individuals and families in crisis situations. The employee will be energetic, and innovative, one who takes initiative to meet the Oneida Family Healing Lodge mandate/vision. While addressing the needs of clients, staff will provide respectful care while role-modeling positive, healthy leadership qualities to all clientele. General responsibilities will include providing residential and non-residential clients with basic counselling, support group facilitation, and education and information on family violence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Social Service Worker diploma is preferred; consideration will be given to applicants that have a diploma in a related field or who are currently in the process of obtaining Social Service Worker diploma.
- Previous employment experience in the social service sector or previous employment in a capacity delivering advocacy services similar to the Family Healing Lodge is an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of family/domestic violence is essential.
- Valid Class “G” Ontario driver’s license.

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO STARTING EMPLOYMENT:
- The successful candidate must submit a recent (completed within a 6-month timeframe) Vulnerable Sector CPIC, at their own expense.
- The successful candidate must submit a copy of valid class “G” Ontario driver’s license and a recent (completed within 6-month timeframe) driver abstract, at their own expense.
- The successful candidate must submit a copy of applicable educational qualifications (certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc.).
