Position: Employment Support Worker

Term: Permanent Full-Time

Division: Social Services/Ontario Works

Salary: Competitive salary range

Hours: 35 hours/week, 8:30a.m. – 4:30p.m., Monday – Friday

Posting Date: November 27, 2023

Closing Date: December 8, 2023 at 4:30p.m.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Ontario Works Program Manager, the Employment Support Worker is a client-focused position responsible to recommend programs/activities that address the needs of the clients; encourage client participation. This position will work with clients to identify strengths, skills, interests and assist clients in accessing standard training in preparation for employment in an in-demand job field.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field (deemed relevant by interview committee).
  2. Minimum two (2) years employment experience in Ontario Works or a related field.
  3. Knowledge of the Ontario Works program, regulations, directives, an asset.
  4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO STARTING EMPLOYMENT:

  1. The successful candidate must submit a recent (completed within 6-months) Vulnerable Sector CPIC, at own expense;
  2. The successful candidate must submit a copy of applicable educational qualifications (certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc.).
