Your opportunity
• As a Thunderbird Partnership Foundation epidemiologist, you will develop research protocols, be involved with collecting data, cleaning, and analyzing data along with writing reports for communities and stakeholders, grant writing and academic peer review.

As the Thunderbird Partnership Foundation Epidemiologist, you will
• work in alignment to strategic priorities and collect and analyze data, implement applications, and establish strong working relationships with community and regional stakeholders while working on multiple concurrent project activities; and
• conduct epidemiologic research to meet health information requirements for stakeholders and ongoing reporting obligations.
Job Requirements
• Master’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, health or related discipline with either a thesis or keystone project and one-year of related research and/or community development experience preferably with a First Nations community setting
• Proficient in statistical software packages including SPSS, STATA or R
• Familiar with sample size calculations and multivariable analyses
• Skilled in time series analyses and mixed methods
• Knowledge of ICH clinical good practice
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations and regulatory trends in epidemiology, public health, and surveillance
• Advanced knowledge of the social determinants of health
• Experience in medical geography and familiarity with mapping and spatial regression analyses is an asset
• Holds Tri council policy on ethics certification
• Knowledge of protocols and ethical research practices relating to First Nations, Inuit, and Metis populations – OCAP©
• Experience in creation and delivery of knowledge exchange activities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel
• Able to provide expert epidemiological advice and ongoing program planning support
• Knowledge of the basic principles of project management and administration
• Proven negotiating and problem-solving skills, ability to think creatively and initiate new ideas
• Able to develop work plans, track projects and provide ongoing updates
• Possesses well developed interpersonal and facilitation skills and ability to interact and consult with stakeholders
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to communicate clearly in English both in writing and verbally
• Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and meet multiple deadlines within tight timelines
• Ability to function autonomously, to be flexible and adapt to change
• High level of professionalism and able to always maintain confidentiality
• Ability to travel
• Able to access work locations not accessible by public transit
