The London Children’s Museum is looking for a positive, professional, and detail-oriented individual to join our team in our new home at 100 Kellogg Lane. The Facility Maintenance Custodian is responsible for ensuring the London Children’s Museum is a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for visitors and staff. They exemplify our organizational values: Listen Closely, Be Awesome, Stay Curious, Be Helpful, Include Everyone, Dream Big, and Have Fun.Position: Part-time hourly contract, November – June 30 with opportunity for extension; 10-30 hours/week; weekday, weekend, and evening shifts availableCompensation: $17.20/hourKey Responsibilities:Ensure the building is kept to a high standard of cleanlinessClean, dust, disinfect, and stock washrooms, common areas, offices, and exhibitsSweep, mop, wash, and vacuum floorsFollow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and suppliesEnsure galleries are kept clean and tidy, including minor laundry dutiesEnsure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and WHMISPerform garbage and recycling sorting and disposalPrepare and set up rooms for meetings, activities, and events as neededAdditional duties as required
Skills & Requirements:Experience in detailed cleaning of a public-use facility including floors and washroomsAble to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidaysStrong attention to detailHighly organized and efficientTakes initiative and shows personal responsibility and pride in quality workAbility to work independently and as part of a teamFlexibility and willingness to adapt to changing prioritiesProven ability to effectively problem-solve, multi-task, and prioritizeAbility to handle 8 hours of physically active work and lift medium to heavy objectsAbility to work in a safe and effective mannerEnthusiasm for working in a child-centred environmentValid Police Vulnerable Sector Check required
