Job Posting: HR, Payroll, Pension & Benefits Coordinator

Location: 9119 West Ipperwash Road, Kettle & Stony Point First Nation

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 annually

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR, Payroll, Pension & Benefits Coordinator to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate payroll processing, effective benefits administration, and compliance with pension regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of HR practices, and a commitment to providing exceptional services to our employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Administration

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status.
  • Prepare and submit payroll remittances, including statutory deductions and garnishments.
  • Generate and distribute Records of Employment (ROEs) as required.
  • Collaborate with the Finance department for payroll reconciliations and reporting.

Benefits Administration

  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans.
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations, ensuring timely communication with providers and employees.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits coverage, claims, and eligibility.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with benefit policies.

Pension Management

  • Administer the organization’s pension plans, including enrollments, contributions, and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with pension regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with pension plan providers and respond to employee inquiries regarding pension matters.

HR Support

  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Support HR initiatives, including employee onboarding, offboarding, and performance management processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of employee records and sensitive information.

Experience and Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, and Accounting, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Experience with pension plan management.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard office hours with occasional extended hours during peak periods.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.
