Note: This is a full-time Administrative position (37.5 hours per week).

Duties: 
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), reporting to the Director, Employee and Labour Relations, is accountable for partnering with their portfolio to provide a full range of HR solutions including advice, consultation, coaching, influencing and strategic planning to support their leaders in achieving their business objectives, human resource strategies in alignment with the College’s strategic plan.

The HRBP will collaborate as a strategic partner with their portfolio and all levels of management in the development, implementation, and administration of sound human resource practices as it relates to organizational design, staffing structures, position design, employee and labour relations, investigations, performance management, workforce planning, and other human resource functions in compliance with employment standards, collective agreements, legislation, and other guidelines.

Experience and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary 3-year diploma/degree in Human Resources or related discipline
  • CHRL designation preferred
  • Minimum 7 years’ of progressive generalist experience with demonstrated experience providing full range HR consultation in a unionized environment
  • Knowledge of human resources and labour relations principles, procedures, practices and relevant legislation
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Ability to engage stakeholders through superior communication, and influence and negotiate solutions to challenging issues
  • Proactively approaches work and takes initiative
  • Team player
  • Must be proficient in various computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and HRMS (Workday preferred)
