Atlohsa Family Healing Services is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to fill the role of Human Resources Manager. The primary role of the Human Resouces Manager is to build relationships of trust and respect to bring a balanced approach to Human Resource Management within the agency while ensuring overall legal and ESA compliance and best practices.

Role and Responsibility

Reporting to the Director of Technology and Administration, the Human Resources (HR) Manager works closely with Atlohsa’s Executive Circle and management team to facilitate guidance and leadership on change management, hiring and recruitment, performance management, training and staff development, and Health and Safety policies and practice. The HR Manager will manage employee time and attendance and the employee benefits program. The HR Manager prioritizes Indigenous cultural values towards creating a trauma-informed and anti-racist workplace. The HR Manager will work to ensure that Atlohsa Family Healing Services is a safe space for all community members accessing services and programming.

Suitability

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the languages, traditional ways, history and cultures of the Indigenous population in the London region
  • Strong analysis of colonialism and the ways in which historical and ongoing colonization impacts Indigenous peoples intergenerationally
  • Degree in Business/Human Resources Management, Masters’ degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Human Resources related leadership/management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop Human resources strategies that align with Indigenous cultural values, organizational goals and foster a positive work environment.
  • Leadership experience and demonstrated ability to provide training support
  • Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal relations, problem-solving, crisis intervention, group dynamics, community development and other innovative approaches
  • Understanding of cultural safety and an awareness of its impact on practice
  • Skills in conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation (to build trust and resolve disagreements)
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills and the ability to prioritize multiple competing workload demands
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others in a respectful manner as defined in the Atlohsa Code of Conduct
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License, First Aid and CPR certificate and Current Vulnerable Sector Check

EMPLOYMENT TERM: Full-Time permanent

REMUNERATION: Competitive compensation ($74,999-99,999/annually) and benefits package based on qualifications.
