As we continue to grow progressively, Libro is on a mission to find a passionately accountable full-time Libro Connect Contact Centre Investment Specialist. This opportunity is designed to be focused on training and skill development of the individual as you learn and gain confidence in Libro’s wealth offering. The Investment Specialist role can be a long term career destination, or can be a launching point as you build the foundational knowledge and experience needed to take on more complex financial planning roles in the future. Experience in retail sales and service offer the candidate a foundation of transferrable skills. Experience in financial services while valuable, is not required.

Our Investment Specialists take a proactive approach to helping our Owners achieve their financial goals. This includes understanding each Owner’s financial situation, life goals, and tolerance for risk. At Libro, Investment Specialists are encouraged to understand and communicate the long-term benefits of investment markets to generate excess returns over savings and GICs, and will always match the best investment to the Owner circumstances and risk tolerance.

A key part of the Investment Specialist role is collaboration with other staff. We build full financial relationships with our Owners by ensuring all opportunities are identified and referred to the appropriate business, commercial, investment or retail representatives. Mutual fund* sales will primarily involve a focused suite of mutual fund solutions, with an emphasis on responsible investment options.

*The Investment Specialist role is dually employed between Libro Credit Union and Credential Asset Management.

**This position is eligible for flexible work arrangements including a combination of remote and in-office work, and/or flex time, with office locations in London, Essex or Caledonia.**

What you will do – The Epic Human we are looking for will;

  • Effectively apply advice-based selling and interest-based conversations in all Owner interactions with a focus on investor discipline and behavior
  • Translate Owner goals and priorities into goals-based planning calculators. These goals will form the basis of all future investment decisions for the Owner and will be reviewed and updated periodically
  • Primary role will be to build relationships with up to ~ 600 Owner households of up to $85,000 in investable assets that are appropriate for managed investment solutions (i.e., mutual funds.) Local branch requirements may vary.
  • The Investment Specialist may also be primarily responsible for “GIC only” portfolios at the branch level.
  • Reaches out proactively to Owners and prospects responding to referrals, data insights and market intelligence, to grow wealth portfolio. Refer opportunities seamlessly to appropriate specialists to match expertise to Owner’s identified needs, including complex wealth solutions to Financial Advisor and/or Regional Financial Planner.
  • Develops collaborative relationships with internal teams and business segments to effectively service Owners and grow business.

What we are looking for? Could this be you?

  • Diploma or some business courses or related studies
  • Completion of Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds in Canada course (or willingness to complete course within a specified time frame)
  • Work experience of 1-3 years with a sales focus in a customer service environment
  • Knowledge or expressed curiosity of the various investment products Libro offers, specifically GICs and Mutual Funds
  • MFDA licensed (or willingness to complete licensing requirements within a specified time frame)
  • Completion of, or willingness to work toward successful completion of either the PFP, QAFP, or CFP designation
