Hours of Work: up to 40 hours, days, evenings and weekends based on operational needs
Wage Rate: $18.68/hour

Position Summary:

Seasonal Maintenance staff work under the direction of the Manager of Parks and Facilities and perform the duties of general maintenance throughout the Municipality (primarily focused in Grand Bend).

Primary Duties:

Maintenance

  • Maintenance of various facilities and facility grounds, garbage and litter pickup; facility cleaning; weeding and grass cutting; tree trimming; sign installations; and plant watering.
  • Some shop and small equipment maintenance is required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Customer Service

  • Interacts with the public in a courteous and professional manner.

Experience and Qualifications

Education Requirements and Skills:

  • Valid G Ontario Driver’s license with a clear driving record.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid training is an asset.
  • Ability to work with various small tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work with or without supervision.

Experience/ Work Complexity:

  • Working conditions are primarily outdoors.
  • Working hours include days, evening and weekends.
  • Must adhere to all health and safety practices at all times.
  • Works with grass trimmers, lawnmowers, tractors, pressure washers, sweepers, floor scrubbers and vehicles.
