Note: This is a full-time Administrative position (37.5 hours per week).

Duties: Duties: Reporting to the Dean, Centre for Research and Innovation, the Manager, Research Operations, has the primary responsibility for the administrative operations of the Centre for Research and Innovation as it pertains to development, planning and management of budgets, resource allocation, and facilities planning in support of the academic learning environment. The incumbent oversees and reports on all sponsored research and innovation activities to ensure compliance with grant award conditions and funder expectations. The incumbent provides leadership, direction, administrative support and guidance to all non-fulltime research staff engaged in funded research and innovation projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary 3-year diploma/degree in a related discipline such as Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 7 years’ years of related, progressive work experience is required at the point of hire into this position
  • Solid skills and experience in accounting, budget planning, forecasting, and resource allocation in a research office environment
  • Supervisory and leadership ability with the ability to lead and motivate a work team and be a team player
  • Familiarity with research policies, practices and administration within an academic environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to oversee several projects concurrently while meeting deadlines effectively
  • Ability to plan and lead change
  • Customer service oriented
