Position Title: Off-Reserve Band Representative

Location: 279 Jubilee Road, Muncey, Ontario

Position Summary
The Off-Reserve Band Representative will represent Munsee-Delaware Nation’s children and youth who reside off-reserve and become involved with child welfare agencies. The Off-Reserve Band Representative will attend court proceedings pertaining to Child Welfare matters and will attend investigations being conducted by child welfare agencies. The Off-Reserve Band Representative is responsible for providing direction, coaching and case supervision all matters pertaining to child welfare protection services ensuring alignment to Munsee-Delaware Nation’s policies and procedures as well as the legal framework of the Child and the Child Youth and Family Services Act. Working time will be divided between the office, home visits and legal proceedings in court. This is a leadership role and requires full commitment, which may include being available outside ordinary business hours of work, including evenings, and weekends, and maintaining office hours.

Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree or related field such as social sciences
2. Diploma for Social Services Worker and
3. Minimum of 2 years working in the social/legal field.
4. Minimum of 4 years working with Child Protection field/court system.
5. Minimum of 2 years working with/for Native Community.
6. Must be reliable, dependable, and committed to confidentiality.
7. Must be willing to work flexible hours and travel is required.
8. Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable vehicle required, and to provide a drivers abstract.
9. Must provide a clear VSC – current within last 30 days
