Position: Office Assistant/Receptionist

Department: Education Office

Term: Summer Student 2024 (July 8-August 30, 2024)

Hours: 35 hours/week, 8:30a.m. – 4:30p.m., Monday – Friday

Salary: $17.30 per hour

Posting Date: May 6, 2024

Closing Date: May 24, 2023 at 4:30p.m.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Senior Administrative Assistant, the LLL Summer Student will be greeting and directing visitors, in addition the summer students will also assist with the daily operations of the Oneida Education office. Will purge and organize a storage area for alternate use. Sorting of education office materials according to date, topic, and potential historical significance, will require the student to be a self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised. Other related duties may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must have Social Insurance Number;
  2. Must be between the ages of 15 – 29;
  3. Must be an Oneida Nation of the Thames band member;
  4. Must have reliable transportation to and from work each day;
  5. Must have First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to take training; and
  6. Must commit to the full 8 weeks of employment.
  7. Must possess good attitude and willing to work in a team environment;
  8. Able to work outside for extended periods of time;
  9. Can be a secondary or post secondary student;
  10. The successful candidate must submit proof of school registration for the school year 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. prior to starting employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  1. Answer phones, take messages
  2. Check mail at the Admin
  3. File achieve – sort and scan to Laserfiche
  4. Help with organizing/planning awards night
  5. Help with back-to-school preparation
  6. Creating and preparing bus routes and student lists for contractors
  7. Able to work with minimal supervision
  8. Must have excellent computer skills working with MS Word, Excel, and Publisher
