Job Description

The North Lambton Community Health Centre is a community governed health centre serving identified priority populations in a defined catchment area. The Centres operates multiple sites in Forest, Kettle & Stony Point, Watford, and Sarnia, Ontario. Our interdisciplinary team provides primary health care, health promotion and community development services.

As part of the Afterschool Strategy, funded by the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries, the North Lambton Community Healthy Centre, in partnership with Aamjiwnaang First Nation, requires the following contract positions from September 2024 until June 2025.

(1) Program Leader – 37.5 hours/week

(4) Youth Leaders – up to 9 hours/week

The Program Leaders and Youth Leaders will work closely together in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the Afterschool Strategy Program. This program is offered afterschool in the First Nation community of Aamjiwnaang. The focus of the program is to provide physical activity and health living education to school aged children and youth from grades 1-4 after school.

Flexible hours of work required for all positions. The incumbent(s) will be required to work at both locations.

Qualifications

  • A Degree or Diploma in Health Promotion or Child and Youth Worker or Early Childhood Educator, or a related discipline.
  • Experience facilitating programs for children and youth grade 1-4.
  • Strong communication and group facilitation skills.
  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

This is a contract position with an hourly rate of $24.00 per hour plus 10% in lieu of benefits.

Youth Leaders

Qualifications

  • Currently working towards O.S.S.D.
  • Experience working with children and youth aged grades 1-4.
  • Strong communication and group facilitation skills.

This is a contract position with an hourly rate of pay of $15.60 per hour plus 10% in lieu of benefits.
