Position: Public Works – Summer Students (2 Positions Available)

Term: Summer Student 2024 (July 8-August 30, 2024)
Wage: $17.30 per hour
Hours: 35 hours/week, 8:30a.m. – 4:30p.m., Monday – Friday

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Public Works Supervisor, the summer students will learn and assist with the day-to-day operations of the Public Works Department.
REQUIREMENT:
- Must have a Social Insurance Number;
- Must be between the ages of 15 – 29;
- Must be an Oneida Nation of the Thames band member;
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work each day;
- Must be a secondary or post secondary student;
- The successful candidate must submit proof of school registration for school year 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, prior to starting employment.
- Must have First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to take training; and
- Must commit to the full 8 weeks of employment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Weed Eating and the ditches at intersections and around band owned buildings
- Debris pick up, when needed
- Maintaining weed eaters
- Some painting
- Assist with minor maintenance of small tools and equipment
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
