GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE’s) provide nurturing care in cooperation with families, colleagues, and communities by offering an inclusive
and responsible, high quality, early learning environment that is developmentally appropriate, rich in Lunaape culture and meet the needs of each child. RECE’s follow requirement of all provincial and federal regulations; follow policies and procedures identified in the Child Care and Early Years ACT (CCEYA); and follow the policies and procedures of Munsee-Delaware Nation and ÉENDA NOOCHIIKIING Child Care Center.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To perform duties in accordance with the program statement and core values of ÉENDA NOOCHIIKIING Child care Center and the mandate of
Munsee-Delaware Nation.
2. To uphold and respect the children’s inherent right of knowing their ancestral tongue (Lunaape) by becoming learners of the language through
inhouse capacity building, for the purpose of becoming a part of an immersion early learning and child care program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Early Childhood Education diploma or degree from a recognized College or University.
2. Must be registered with the College of Early childhood educators and in good standing.
3. Willing to speak/learn Lunaape language.
4. Must provide a current (within 6 months) Negative Vulnerable Sector Check.
5. Current standard First Aid and CPR certificate.
6. Up to date immunization record.
7. A safe food handling certificate would be considered an asset.
8. B, E, or F drivers license would be considered an asset.
9. Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Job requires frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.; bending, kneeling, and crouching.
10. Ability to work independently and closely with other educators and caregivers.
