Note: This is a full-time Administrative position (37.5 hours per week).

Duties: Reporting to the Vice President, People and Culture, the Senior Manager, Employee Recruitment, leads, directs, supports, develops and enhances all activities related to the recruitment cycle, including but not limited to employer branding, marketing, internal recruitment process, workforce planning and applicant tracking system (ATS) management. The incumbent determines forecasted staffing needs, develops recruitment strategies with a focus on the candidate experience, and leads employment and branding initiatives. They would ensure the ATS and recruitment workflows are streamlined and regularly reviewed for efficiencies and best practices, and collaborates with the business to lead the development of hiring programs, policies, and processes. They will provide analytical and technical expertise to senior administration, managers, supervisors, and employees. They also complete various general HR related projects to areas of HR as assigned.

In the first 12 months, the incumbent will have a focus to assess the current recruitment landscape within the College and recommend, develop and implement business processes to support the implementation of a new ATS and the associated change management.

The Senior Manager of Employee Recruitment, provides daily supervision and leadership to the recruitment team and ensures the team is resourced well to meet the demand of the College, including flexing strategies, as required. They provide back up to the HR partners to provide HR solutions to assist the College and their assigned areas to achieve their business objectives and implement the College’s strategic plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary 4-year degree in Human Resources, or a related discipline
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP, CHRL) preferred
  • Minimum 7 years’ of progressive responsible work in an HR role with knowledge of human resources functions
  • Highly experienced in innovative and modern recruitment and workforce planning strategies and execution
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office skills; MS Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, HRMS systems, Applicant Tracking Systems and Crystal Reporting
  • Advanced knowledge and experience working with a SAAS based Applicant Tracking System
  • Strong ability to lead a team and influence others
  • Meeting and committee facilitation
  • Public sector experience in a unionized environment preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Project management skills, organizational, self-starter, able to multi-task, and high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated initiative, utilizing conceptual and analytical thinking
  • Experience communicating effectively at all levels of an organization, employing strong interpersonal, problem solving, judgement, decision making, and influencing skills
  • Experience providing effective leadership and operational guidance
  • Proven project management experience—have led large projects through to completion
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR practices, theories, trends, and legislation
  • Planning skills, systems thinking, Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate would be beneficial
  • Superb presentation, verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Experience crafting clear, concise formal reports and communication
