Atlohsa Family Healing Services is a non-profit, charitable organization, dedicated to strengthening community through Indigenous-led programs and services that offer wholistic healing and wellness. The Team Assistant provides administrative support and assistance to the Giwetashkad leadership team. The Team Assistant supports the overall implementation of the Giwetashkad Indigenous Homelessness Strategic Plan.

Role and Responsibility
Supporting the Giwetashkad management team and reporting to the Director of Housing and Healing Services, the Executive Assistant supports the operations of a large team that provides emergency supports to Indigenous people experiencing homelessness. The Team Assistant takes minutes during meetings and prepares meeting agenda and assists with scheduling as required. The Team Assistant supports preparing documents, organizing electronic files, the preparation of presentations and reports, and credit card reconciliations and expense reimbursements. The Team Assistant always maintains professionalism and confidentiality. The Team Assistant will work to ensure that Atlohsa Family Healing Services is a safe space for all community members accessing services and programming.

Suitability
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the languages, traditional ways, history and cultures of the Indigenous population in the London region
• Current knowledge of Indigenous community services and resources
• Experience working with Indigenous women and children who have been exposed to violence/abuse and with Indigenous people experiencing homelessness is an asset
• Impeccable with details and commitment to quality.
• Demonstrated ability to receive training support, supervision and direction
• Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal relations, problem-solving, crisis intervention, group dynamics, community development and other innovative approaches
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong editing and proofreading capability.
• Post Secondary Education, certification in Administration or equivalent work experience required.
• 2+ years experience in an Assistant or Administrative role required.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
• Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others in a respectful manner as defined in the Atlohsa Code of Conduct
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License, First Aid and CPR certificate and Current Vulnerable Sector Check
• Job is onsite in London, Ontario.

EMPLOYMENT TERM: Full-time Permanent
REMUNERATION: $23-26/hourly and benefits package
