Hybrid Work Schedule: In-person Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Advanced Business and Industry Solutions Office location at 2555 Bonder Road, London, ON N6M 0E7

Note: This is a full-time Support position (35 hours per week) starting April 1, 2024.


Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, the incumbent provides up-to-date technical support and assistance by conducting testing and completing data collection activities of the Fanshawe Product Testing Laboratory. The incumbent fabricates prototype components and test fixtures for lab testing and performs repairs and arranges calibration of test equipment and components when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary 3-year diploma/degree in Electromechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Minimum 5 years’ demonstrated recent, relevant industry experience, including lead hand experience in testing environment
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
  • Familiarity with thermal, mechanical, electrical and environmental test specifications, test set-ups and equipment, including electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
  • Experience using equipment such as an oscilloscope, automated data loggers, multimeters, spectrum analyzers and EMI receivers
  • Demonstrated ability to operate shop equipment including CNC milling machines and lathes, welding and a variety of hand tools
  • Familiarity with programming PLCs, as well as PC-based data acquisition and control software, networking and automated data collection
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
