Hours: 35 hours per week. Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Pay Details: $32.42 per hour

Note: This is a full-time Support position (35 hours per week).

Duties:
Under the direction of the Director, the incumbent works as an integral part of the Learning Centre team to provide tutorial assistance to students. The incumbent prepares and delivers resource materials to provide students with opportunities to practice, apply and/or demonstrate the skills necessary to improve their writing and communication skills. Additionally, the incumbent provides general technical assistance to maintain relevant resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary 4-year degree Honours B.A. in English, Rhetoric and Composition, Linguistics or other related field
  • Minimum 1-year related experience working in a tutorial or other educational setting
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
  • Experience with second language learners an asset
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
