Job Description

The London Children’s Museum is looking for enthusiastic, kind, and customer-focused Visitor Experience Facilitators (VEF) to join our team in our new home at 100 Kellogg Lane! Working with the Visitor Experience team, VEFs help ensure visitors have a positive and memorable experience at the London Children’s Museum. Our new team members will exemplify our organizational values: Listen Closely, Stay Curious, Be Awesome, Be Helpful, Dream Big, Include Everyone, and Have Fun.Position: Part-time seasonal contract, November – June 30, with opportunity for extension; 10-30 hours weekly; weekday, weekend and evening shifts availableCompensation: $17.20/hourKey Responsibilities:Provide an exceptional experience and customer service to all visitorsCreate a safe and welcoming environment for learning by maintaining exhibit cleanliness, museum tidiness, and overall organizationInteract with families and proactively respond to visitor needsInvoke children’s natural curiosity through the use of materials, exhibits, and artifactsFacilitate quality public programs, including STEAM, star shows, fossil shows, and artifact interactionsDeliver memorable birthday party experiencesEnsure a positive visitor experience during facility rentals and special eventsModel the London Children’s Museum’s values and pedagogy in all interactionsAssist with community outreaches and education programs as neededBe a helpful, positive, and engaged member of the London Children’s Museum teamOther duties as required

Experience and Qualifications

Skills & RequirementsEnthusiasm for hands-on, experiential learningDemonstrated experience in customer serviceSpecific interest or expertise in the area(s) of science, art, education, and morePrevious experience working with children and familiesStrong verbal and interpersonal skillsChild & Infant First Aid and CPR training are considered an assetMust provide a vulnerable sector checkLegally entitled to work in Canada following relevant provincial legislation and regulationsAbility to work weekends, holidays, and some evenings
