Position Summary: The 13 Moons Land-Based Learning Camp is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Wellness Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of traditional Indigenous knowledge related to holistic wellness, traditional medicines, and nutritious and traditional whole foods, lead as head cook, and work as a team to develop food Sovereignty Initiatives eg. community gardens, orchards, farming etc. Knowledge of Oneida Language and eagerness to learn is mandatory. This role is essential in promoting the health and well-being of camp participants and staff through culturally relevant practices and teachings.

Key Responsibilities:
- Holistic Wellness: Promote and integrate holistic wellness practices into the camp’s daily activities. Educate participants and staff on the importance of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
- Traditional Medicines: Share knowledge of traditional Indigenous Teach participants how to identify, harvest, and prepare these medicines respectfully and sustainably.
- Nutritional Education: Advocate for the inclusion of nutritious and traditional foods in the camp’s meal plans. Educate participants and staff on the health benefits of these foods and traditional dietary practices.
- Workshops and Activities: Organize and lead workshops and activities focused on holistic wellness, traditional medicines, and nutritious foods. Engage participants in hands-on learning experiences.
- Health and Wellness Programs: Develop and implement health and wellness programs that align with traditional Indigenous Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of these programs.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other camp staff to ensure wellness practices are integrated into all aspects of camp life. Partner with local Elders and Knowledge Keepers to enhance program offerings.
- Resource Management: Ensure the sustainable use of natural resources for wellness practices. Advocate for environmental stewardship in all wellness-related activities. As a team develop food Sovereignty Initiatives community gardens, orchards, farming etc.
- Community Engagement: Engage with the local community to promote wellness and share knowledge. Foster relationships with community members and organizations to support the camp’s wellness initiatives.
- Support Services: Provide one-on-one wellness consultations for participants and staff as needed. Offer support and guidance on personal wellness journeys.
