Position:              Wellness Worker              

Term:                   Permanent Full-Time       

Department:       Human Services

Division:               Health Centre     

Salary:                 Competitive salary range

Hours:                  35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m., flexible to align work schedule with program requirements which will include some evenings and weekends

JOB SUMMARY:  

The Wellness Worker is an important point of contact for individuals and families seeking services of the Oneida Nation of the Thames, Human Services Department.

 

The Wellness Worker builds rapport with callers and walk-ins while collecting information, determining the appropriateness of the services, evaluation of risk, crisis intervention if indicated and builds a circle of care for services in collaboration with the community members and clients, also with the Human Services Team and other services deemed appropriate.

Experience and Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  1. Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Social Work or Social Service Worker.
  2. Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
  3. Certificates in mental health, addictions, or health promotion or willing to obtain.
  4. Valid First Aid/CPR certification or willing to obtain.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Previous work experience in mental health and addictions is considered an asset.
  2. Previous work experience in crisis response is considered an asset.
