Communications Summer Student

The Corporation of the Town of Tecumseh is currently recruiting for a highly motivated individual to fill the Communications Summer Student position in our Technology & Client Service department.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager Customer Service, the Communications Summer Student role will be responsible for working with the Communications Officer with day-to-day activities related to corporate website and social media channels, updating branding guide, creating themed digital content including videos and developing targeted campaigns to enhance engagement and awareness of Town amenities and services.

Qualifications and Requirements
The successful candidate will be enrolled in the field of Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Marketing, Business Administration, or related field. The successful candidate must have an in-depth working knowledge and experience in various software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Applications (Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, InDesign), Video editing software and previous experience with Content Management Systems. Candidates with videography experience including post-production editing is considered an asset. The ideal candidate will have exceptional professionalism, time management, creativity, and organizational skills with the ability to complete tasks efficiently and accurately. Candidates will have a strong work ethic and a valid G Driver’s License with access to a vehicle.

Candidates must be able to work up to thirty-five (35) hours per week with the flexibility to adjust their schedule based on the Town events.

Salary
The Town offers an hourly rate of $18.16 (2024).
