Position Title: Community Outreach Specialist

Location: 13 Moons Land-Based Learning Camp

Employment Type: Full-Time

Term: 2 Years

Salary: $50,000 Plus Benefits Package

Position Summary: The 13 Moons Land-Based Learning Camp is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with schools and communities through presentations, assisting with marketing efforts, and delivering online seminars to promote the various programs and services offered at 13 Moons Land-Based Learning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Community Engagement: Develop and deliver engaging presentations to schools and community organizations to promote 13 Moons Land-Based Learning programs and
  • Outreach Activities: Build and maintain relationships with educators, community leaders, and other stakeholders to increase awareness and participation in camp
  • Marketing Support: Assist in creating marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and social media content. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement outreach strategies.
  • Online Seminars: Plan, organize, and deliver online seminars and webinars about the camp’s programs and services. Ensure that content is informative, engaging, and accessible to a broad audience.
  • Program Promotion: Actively promote the camp’s mission, values, and offerings at community events, conferences, and other public forums.
  • Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from presentations and online seminars to continuously improve outreach efforts and program offerings.
  • Reporting: Maintain records of outreach activities and provide regular reports on engagement and outcomes to camp Work closely with the administrator to ensure data collection.
  • Support: Provide support for other camp initiatives and activities as As a team work on food Sovereignty Initiatives eg. community gardens, orchards, farming etc etc when available.

  • Experience: Previous experience in community outreach, public speaking, marketing, or a related role. Experience working with Indigenous communities and knowledge of Indigenous cultures and traditions is a significant asset.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations and seminars.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse groups.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work effectively in a dynamic
