Position: Community Well-Being Lead

Term: Permanent Full-Time

Department: Community Centre

Division: Community and Social Services

Salary: Competitive salary range

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m., must be flexible to align work schedule with program requirements which will include some evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays

JOB SUMMARY:  

The Community Well-Being Lead plays a key role in promoting healthy, safe, and culturally relevant experiences for families through collaborative planning and coordination of community activities. Working closely with Community and Social Services programs, this position focuses on prevention-based initiatives that support family health and well-being. Responsibilities include organizing inclusive events, leading activities during family dining programs, managing registrations, and coordinating monthly schedules. This position will also plan and execute large-scale community events, ensuring equitable participation for all community members.

Experience and Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • A Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Indigenous Studies, Human Services, or a related field is preferred.
  • Applicants with a Grade 12 Diploma plus at least three (3) years work experience in planning and/or coordinating programs within a First Nations community will also be considered.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have demonstrated knowledge and awareness of the Oneida community, culture and history.
  • Must have demonstrated experience working with First Nations children, youth, and families.
  • A valid Class “G” Ontario driver’s license is required, along with the use of a company vehicle.
