Job Description

The Early Childhood Program Supervisor oversees the daily operations, management, and administration of the Childcare Centre within the Life Long Learning Division. This role ensures all services comply with legislated guidelines and align with the philosophy of the program.The Supervisor provides leadership to ensure high-quality client service, supports children’s social, physical, cognitive, and emotional development, and helps families create stable, nurturing environments. This supervisory position oversees up to 12 full-time staff, along with varying numbers of short-term and casual employees. The role also ensures adherence to best practices in child development, facility and equipment use, community engagement, and staff development.

Experience and Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Early Childhood Educator diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and enrollment with the College of ECE.
  • A certificate in Early Childhood Administration is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity is preferred.
  • Previous experience with Ministry reporting, proposal writing and monitoring a general ledger is preferred.
