Position Overview:
The First Nations Advisory Committee on Safe Drinking Water (the “FNAC”) is seeking a creative and organized Engagement & Communications Coordinator to support communications, community
outreach, and marketing efforts. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Coordinator will lead and support communications strategies that raise awareness about water funding and infrastructure access across First Nations. This includes planning and promoting events, coordinating marketing materials, managing digital outreach, and ensuring all communications are culturally respectful and communitydriven. This position will be virtually based and open to applicants across Canada. Preference will be given to Indigenous applicants and those with direct experience working in First Nations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and support culturally appropriate outreach to First Nations about water infrastructure funding, programs, and progress.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, administrators, and key contacts.
• Assist with preparation of presentations, submissions, and documentation for partners and leadership.
• Coordinate internal and external meetings; prepare agendas, take minutes, and track action items.
• Support the organization and delivery of virtual and in-person events, meetings, and info sessions.
• Gather community feedback and assist in creating testimonials, stories, and case studies.
• Draft and share correspondence, updates, and reports related to water projects
• Maintain accurate contact records, calendars, and shared files.
• Develop and implement communications and marketing strategies to promote water infrastructure awareness.
• Create content for brochures, newsletters, email updates, and educational resources.
• Coordinate social media outreach, including drafting posts, designing visuals, and tracking engagement.
• Design and distribute physical and digital materials for campaigns (print mailouts, posters, social graphics, etc.).
• Help manage feedback loops (e.g., community surveys, event evaluations) to improve outreach success.

Compensation
Compensation for this position will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Applicants with a strong track record and relevant expertise can expect a salary aligned with their professional background and the demands of the role. Regional cost-of-living differences will also be considered to ensure fair and competitive pay relative to the candidate’s place of residence.

Experience and Qualifications

Education & Experience
• Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Communications, Indigenous Studies, Marketing or a related field.
• Relevant training or coursework in project coordination or community engagement is an asset.

Qualifications & Skills:
• 3+ years of experience in communications, marketing, administration, or community engagement.
• Strong writing, formatting, and visual storytelling skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, Facebook, and email campaign tools.
• Ability to plan and execute small-scale campaigns and track their effectiveness.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently.
• Understanding of First Nation governance.
• Spoken and written English required; Indigenous language and French proficiency is an asset.
