Position:              Housing and Transition Support Worker     

Term:                   Permanent Full-Time

Department:       Oneida Family Healing Lodge

Division:               Community and Social Services

Salary:                 Competitive salary range

Hours:                  40 hours per week, shift work, must be flexible to work days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays

JOB SUMMARY:  

The Housing and Transition Support Worker plays a crucial role in assisting individuals and families throughout their healing journey, utilizing a strength-based, client-centered, and holistic approach. This position requires a specialty in housing supports and transitional housing, with a focus on providing comprehensive information and education about domestic violence. The worker offers culturally respectful, personalized support to clients transitioning from the Oneida Family Healing Lodge, ensuring that both residential and non-residential clients receive tailored, culturally appropriate resources and services. The role emphasizes empowering clients and enhancing their overall well-being.

Experience and Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  1. Bachelor of Social Work Degree or completion of related degree program.
  2. Candidates with a Post-Secondary Diploma in Social Service Work or completion of a related diploma program, along with extensive experience, will also be considered.
  3. Valid Class “G” License and use of company vehicle is required.

EXPERINCE:

  1. At least 1 year of experience in the social service sector, preferably in advocacy or shelter services.
  2. Strong understanding of family and/or domestic violence.
  3. Proficient in computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
