Marketing and Student Recruitment Coordinator

LOCATION: Nipissing First Nation Head Office OR Munsee Delaware Nation Satellite Office (in office)

Full Time Position with Benefits

(after successfully completing 3 months of employment)

Salary Range: $62,373 to $70,690

Reporting to the Campus Manager, the Marketing and Student Recruitment Coordinator (MSRC) is responsible for implementing marketing, communication, promotion and recruitment strategies to increase enrolment at the Anishinabek Educational Institute. The MSRC promotes programs and services to prospective students and Indigenous communities in our territory through promotional events and networking. The MSRC will provide accurate and updated information to students, funders and community organizations, and they will collect data on academic trends and needs at the community level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment:

  • Development and implementation of a recruitment strategy;
  • Coordinating, developing, planning and attending career, community and education fairs, information sessions, (in person and virtual sessions) and special public events (AEI Day, AEI Open Houses, Convocation);
  • Conducting community outreach activities and making presentations that promotes AEI and its programs and services;
  • Seeking out opportunities and dropping into Anishinabek communities to promote AEI awareness;
  • Working with Program Coordinators in recruitment efforts;
  • Inquiring, collaborating and gathering information and data on trending educational needs of communities;
  • Promoting community-based delivery opportunities;
  • Assisting students in completing applications;
  • Responding to short notice requests and deadlines;
  • Providing equal recruitment activities for each Campus Area (Nipissing and Munsee);
  • Ensuring availability for extensive travel with irregular hours of work; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Marketing:

  • Maintaining knowledge and awareness of all program deliveries, entrance requirements, placement requirements and funding sources on student programs to be promoted;
  • Collaborating with the appropriate staff in delivering consistent messages on programs, services, marketing, advertising and communication opportunities or strategies for AEI; and ensuring marketing campaigns are geared towards target groups as approved by the Director of Education (DOE);
  • Developing and implementing a marketing strategy in collaboration with the appropriate staff and Campus Managers, which includes advertising communication and recruitment strategies, including direct and digital marketing;
  • Managing post campaign analysis to measure and report on marketing, advertising, communications metrics;
  • Providing the DOE and Campus Managers with quarterly reports on strategies, campaigns and the education needs of Anishinabek communities;
  • Developing recruitment/marketing materials including AEI annual program day planners, bi-annual newsletters, flyers, information folders, posters and rack cards;
  • Developing, procuring and maintaining promotional supplies (pens, mouse pads, etc.);
  • Developing, updating and preparing information packages and presentations on programs and services;
  • Operating camera equipment, to take photographs of scenery, students, or staff for promotional materials; and
  • Coordinating and developing material for AEIs Alumni with the assistance of Office Assistants.

Experience and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College Diploma or University Degree in: Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field of study;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, public relations, or student recruitment, preferred in an educational or Indigenous organization, with the focus on promoting services and building relationships;
  • Experience in developing and executing comprehensive marketing and recruitment strategies, ideally within an adult education or similar setting;
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, marketing and design software such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, social media platforms, and virtual meeting tools like Zoom, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools; and
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and be insurable and willingness to travel extensively.

  • Knowledge of Anishinabek culture, traditions and communities.
