Job Description

Position: Program Aide/Nutrition Support

Term: Permanent Part-Time

Division: Life Long Learning/Head Start Family Resource Centre

Salary: Competitive salary range

Hours: 27.5 hours/week, normally 9:00a.m. – 3:00p.m., Monday – Friday, 30-minute unpaid lunch, flexible to work some evenings and weekends based on programming

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the immediate supervision of the Head Start Family Resource Centre Supervisor, this position will prepare nutritious snacks for the family drop-in program visitors, meetings and occasional meals for special events as required. Additionally, this position maintains inventory of food supplies and general cleaning of kitchen prep and serving areas.

This position will assist in designing, coordinating, and implementing family programming at the centre.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must possess an up-to-date Safe Food Handlers certificate.
  2. Minimum one (1) year experience working with children, an asset.
  3. Valid First Aid/CPR certificate.

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO STARTING EMPLOYMENT:

  1. The successful candidate must submit a recent (completed within 3 months) Vulnerable Sector CPIC, at own expense.
  2. The successful candidate must submit immunization records and a negative TB skin test, at own expense.
  3. The successful candidate must submit a copy of applicable educational qualifications (certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc.).
