What will your typical day look like?

As the Service Coordinator, you will be working directly with Claimants to help them identify and access the existing services they need. Service Coordinators are critical to ensuring Claimants understand the services available to them.

As a Service Coordinator, you are expected to:

  • Receive warm referrals of Claimants from Claims Helpers who require additional or acute supports.
  • Conduct meetings (both in-person and remotely) with Claimants to help them identify and access services tailored to their needs.
  • Record notes on your interactions with Claimants and any outreach to organizations/ services.
  • Record and report on gaps identified for services within communities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Deloitte team, Claims Helpers, and other groups as relevant.
  • Follow necessary administrative processes relevant to your role (i.e., expense reports, time tracking, activity reporting).
  • Attend onboarding and training activities as needed for your role.
  • Synthesize and share learning insights from Service Coordinators with the overall Claim Helper Program.
  • Navigate difficult conversations and manage trauma-informed discussions.

Required skills/qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience relevant to this role, including providing frontline supports to First Nation communities in social services or other relevant programs.
  • High level of energy and patience, and an ability to effectively interact and relate to adults and young adults
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Understanding of Canada’s history and relationship with First Nations.
  • Excellent time-management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to provide trauma-informed and culturally sensitive services.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

It would be beneficial if you had any of the following qualities:

  • Self-identify as First Nations in Canada.
  • Experience working on First Nations class action lawsuits.
  • Knowledge of French and Indigenous language(s) would be an asset.
