Job Description

Linck serves the children and families of the Chatham-Kent Municipality and includes child protection, children’s mental health, child development and prevention.

Chatham-Kent has a population in excess of 110,000 and is ideally situated mid-way between Windsor and London on the shores of Lake Erie.

Linck Child, Youth and Family Supports (“Linck”) requires two (2) Supported Living Service Workers. These positions are for one (1) contract, full-time (70 hours bi-weekly) and for one (1) contract part-time (48 hours bi-weekly) beginning as soon as posisble and lasting to April 24, 2026.

This role supports children/youth 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Incumbents can expect to work day, afternoon, and midnight shifts (including weekends and holidays).

The incumbent in this position will have responsibilities as a Supported Living Service Worker. The staff, along with other staff supporting the child/youth, provides care, supervision, programming, and guidance to children and youth awaiting placement, live in treatment or alternate living option. Through the efficient management of the placement in an atmosphere of warmth and acceptance, the staff will provide structure and security geared to promoting positive growth and development in the children and youth.

Salary Range: Pay Grid 4 ($28.26-$35.88)

Experience and Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a two or more year diploma from a community college working with children and youth (preference will be given to Child and Youth Worker diploma).
  • Up to three (3) months related experience.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and CPI certificate.
  • Computer and keyboarding skills, extensive use of word-processing programs.
  • Tact and discretion are required to deal with or settle requests, interpreting or clarification of information with residents.
  • Deals with clients requiring motivation/emotional support.
  • A valid G driver’s license.
  • Use of a personal vehicle.
  • The ability to communicate in French is an asset
  • Preference will be given to persons with a strong understanding and extensive experience working with other cultures, heritages and traditions.
