Training Facilitator

The Greater Essex County District School Board invites applications from interested, qualified individuals for the team-oriented position of Training Facilitator. This is a full time, 35 hours per week, permanent Non-Bargaining (NBE) position within the Human Resources Department.

Job Summary:

POSITION: Training Facilitator
LOCATION: Administration Building, HR Department with occasional local travel.
SALARY: $67,733 – $79,682

Nature & Scope of Position:

Reporting to the Superintendent of Human Resources/Coordinator of Human Resources Services, the Training Facilitator will be responsible for coordinating and developing training in support of GECDSB goals, priorities, strategic plans, and in compliance with all legislative requirements across departments. The Training Facilitator will be responsible for:

  • Developing and delivering effective training plans/strategies/materials to meet the desired outcomes, by understanding required knowledge levels and learning objectives related to each position.
  • Maintaining all training records within the Learning Management System, electronic and/or hard copy.
  • Participating in idea generation to help maintain/improve the Board’s current Learning
  • Management System which focuses on maintaining a safe and compliant workplace environment.
  • Tracking training and following up with employees/supervisors on outstanding training on behalf of the Superintendent/Coordinator to ensure employee compliance with training requirements.
  • Assisting with all Health and Safety training as part of the onboarding requirements for new hires with the Board.
  • Identifying and understanding deficiencies related to training/knowledge and developing effective actions to correct such deficiencies.
  • Coordinating external training to meet requirements, across departments.
  • Creating engaging course materials utilizing various software applications and media.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to and documented success in working to create a fair, inclusive, antiracist environment for all stakeholders, and supporting diverse constituencies and populations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a 3-year university degree or community college diploma in Business, Education, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, communication skills and presentation skills.
  • The ability to multi-task, be committed to strict deadlines and possess exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and experience with graphic design and/or audio/video authoring applications.
  • Experience developing and presenting training materials in multiple formats to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience developing, administering, or deploying training preferably in an educational environment is an asset.
  • Experience with an online Learning Management System such as D2L Brightspace is an asset.
  • Experience with Articulate/Storyline or other e-learning authoring software is an asset.
  • Experience and/or education in Adult Learning Principles is an asset.
