Title: Wildlife Field Technician (Assistant) – The Anishinaabek Land Trust
About This Project:
The Anishinaabek Land Trust is a newly developed Indigenous charity organization dedicated to preserving, enhancing, and honouring natural environments and Indigenous Ecological Knowledge. This project is a pilot initiative designed to develop a framework that can assist and guide Indigenous community projects related to species at risk. The data gathered from this project will be provided to the Kettle & Stony Point communities as background knowledge and preliminary data for future environmental projects.
About This Position:
The Wildlife Field Technician will be responsible for assisting the Project Coordinator in Species at Risk research and surveys. Work days will consist of ‘work from home’ time which include research and data organizing, and planning and preparation for weekly surveys. Work days will also involve driving, walking, or kayaking lands and water bodies to perform hands-on field work of flora and fauna.
